Stop Worrying and Start Trusting God. –

Matthew 6:26 – Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

Quote of the day: To detach yourself from worries you must attach yourself to the Promises of God – KNN

Growing up in a family where you have access to all you wanted for me was a great fun. My dad could provide everything in advance. When they request for one thing in school, he gives me double. It was fun. There is nothing as cool as living in abundance, an exciting life indeed.

The truth started creeping in when he lost his job and everything was moving so fast. He could not save for the rainy day because not only was he taking care of his immediate family but was taking care of extended and even friends.  So when it hit … it hit so bad that within a short period of time he had to sell all his properties so we can go to school, but that will only last for a while.

So here I am on campus with nothing – when I mean nothing, I mean he could barely pay my fees.

It became so worse that whenever I go home, going back I had to take provisions (milk, sugar, and garri(student’s life sustainer made from cassava) on credit from Amaka (a lady that had a small Kiosk in front of our house) hoping that when we get little money or my dad is able to get some money I will pay back.  It became so worse that the Lady could no longer afford to give me on credit again cause it was already accumulating.

While all these were happening, I was busy evangelizing preaching God’s goodness and divine favor.  Those that knew me in school then could never have known what was going on in my life because I had this positive attitude and desire to serve God and could really care much about the situation. . This was my first year and I have 4 more years to go through all these… hmmm.

Little did I know that God was bringing me to my purpose in Life.  God was teaching me many things that I would not have had the opportunity to learn. God was teaching me how to totally depend on him and not on man.  Mathew 6 vs. 26 – Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

This is so true, as I am a living witness. I can remember the very day I managed to receive N300  from my Dad then and I knew I was never going to get anything again till a long time especially when he says “Hold this until I get anything again”. I had this urge to visit the prison in Owerri to preach. So I used half of the money to buy this special sausage from Mr. Sunny (Hostel A Common room).  I went to the prison, usually they tell you to taste the food first.. So I did and they took me in to see them.

At First, fear gripped me and I was thinking about what I would to say to these people.  Then  I felt the presence of the holy spirit while I was talking to them and by the time I was done .. some of them were in Tears particular one I prayed for , I removed my watch (One old watch I have attached a lot of importance to – I love that watch so much ) and gave to the warden to keep for him.

Not only did I get back to school fulfilled and happy, but I got a message from my Dad that my Uncle in Ibussa (Delta State ) sent me N5000 and a Brand new Wrist watch … I fell on my knees and worshiped God …

Listen God is not a man that he should lie or repent of his words .Whatever He has promised to do, he will definitely do.  He has promised he will take care of you… that thing you are holding on, that thing you are looking upto , that job you are relying on, that man you depend on – They are not your source you have to let go and let God ..Look up to God, who is your source and can meet your need through uncountable channels. And please don’t forget “Your Needs” NOT “Your Wants.”
